Permitting
In
the City of Philadelphia, if you want to
install a new sign you need the
appropriate permits – it’s as simple as
that.
The permitting process can seem
overwhelming at first, but our handbook
(below)
will walk you through the process
step-by-step.
Two types of permits are required for
accessory signs – a zoning permit and a
building permit from L&I. If you wish
to install a projecting sign or if your
business is in certain overlay zones,
you will also require approval from the
Art Commission.
