E-2702.5 Alterations: Alterations shall not be made to any existing installations of electric wiring or equipment for which a permit is required within or on any structure or premises, except as provided for in Section E-2701.3 and the administrative code, without first securing a permit from the department.

New loads shall be computed in accordance with the requirements of NFPA 70.

E-2702.7 Signs: It shall be mandatory for all sign contractors or sign erector's installation crews to have in their possession a record or copy of the permit number issued by the department for the sign, signboard, or structure they are installing. All electrical work must be performed under the provisions of this chapter by a qualified Licensed and Insured Electrical Contractor.

E-2702.8 Permit for other person: It shall be unlawful for any Licensed and Insured Electrical Contractor to secure or furnish a permit for the installation, alteration, and repair of electrical wires and apparatus to any person not entitled to such permit under the regulations set forth by this code.
