F-3601.2 Permit required: A permit shall be required for the
storage of liquefied petroleum gas containers where the combined container
quantity exceeds sixty (60) gallons (0.23 m3) water capacity (nominal two
hundred pounds LP-gas capacity), and for each installation of liquefied
petroleum gas utilizing storage containers exceeding thirty (30) gallons (0.11
m3) individual water capacity (nominal one hundred pounds LP-gas capacity), and
where the combined container quantity exceeds sixty (60) gallons (0.23 m3) water
capacity (nominal two hundred pounds LP-gas capacity) regardless of individual
container size. The installer shall submit plans to the code official prior to
making such an installation. A permit shall be issued where compliance with the
requirements of this code is shown on the plans.

F-3601.2.2 Installation where City gas is available: No
installation shall be permitted where the City gas utility exists in any
right-of-way which abuts the property in question or is available on the
property.
Exception: An installation which shall be used solely for the
resale of gas.

F-3603.4 Protection of tanks: Where tanks are located such
that there is a potential for vehicle impact, the tanks shall be protected in
accordance with Section F-3205.4.

F-3605.1 Location: The Fire Department shall review all
applications for liquefied petroleum gas installations. In areas determined by
the Fire Department to be heavily populated or congested, the Fire Department
shall determine if an installation shall be permitted and if permitted it shall
determine what restrictions, if any, shall be imposed upon the installation
based on a fire safety analysis as described in Section 3-10.2.3 of NFiPA 58
listed in Chapter 44.
