SECTION F-316.0 MATERIALS STORAGE
F-316.1 Inside storage: Storage in buildings and
structures shall be orderly, shall not be within two feet (610 mm) of the
ceiling, and shall be located so as not to obstruct egress from the building.
Storage which is subject to expansion from water absorption shall be spaced at
least two feet (610 mm) from all walls and columns. In buildings occupied by R-1
and R-2 Use Groups all storage rooms shall be separated from all other portions
of the building within one (1) hour fire resistance rated construction or in
accordance with the building code listed in Chapter 44.
F-316.2 Outside
storage: The outside storage of combustible or flammable materials shall not be
more than twenty feet (6096 mm) in height and shall be compact and orderly.
Outside storage shall be spaced such that a maximum grid system unit of fifty
feet (15 m) by one hundred fifty feet (46 m) is produced with fire access lanes
of at least fifteen feet (4572 mm) on all sides of each storage unit. Such
storage shall be located so as not to constitute a hazard and shall not be less
than fifteen feet (4572 mm) from any other building on the site or from a lot
line.
