(1) The installation or use of any garbage disposal unit without a permit shall constitute a nuisance. Upon written notice from the Department of Licenses and Inspections that a nuisance exists, the garbage disposal unit shall be removed within ten (10) days of the receipt of such notice. Where the Department of Licenses and Inspections determines that the removal of any garbage disposal units cannot be completed as a practical matter within this time, an extension of thirty (30) days shall be granted.

(2) When more than one written notice is required to be sent to any person violating this ordinance, failure to comply with each notice shall constitute a separate offense.

(3) Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine not exceeding fifty (50) dollars for each offense, together with costs of prosecution.

(4) In addition to any penalty imposed by the Code and any other remedy at law or in equity under this Title, the City may apply to a Court of Common Pleas or the County Court of Philadelphia for appropriate relief at law or in equity to enforce compliance with or restrain violation of any provision of this Chapter.
